All-on-X treatment at Melrose Advanced Dentistry costs from R152,000 to R278,000 per jaw. That’s made up of two phases: the implant phase (R52,000 to R78,000 per jaw, depending on how many implants you need) and the prosthodontic or rehabilitation phase (R100,000 to R200,000 per jaw), which is your final fixed set of teeth. We provide in-house sedation and claim directly from your medical aid for all implant procedures.

What is All-on-X?

All-on-X replaces a full arch of missing or failing teeth with a fixed bridge supported by a small number of dental implants, usually four to six per jaw. The “X” stands for the number of implants your jaw needs, so the term covers treatments often called All-on-4 and All-on-6. Unlike dentures, the teeth are fixed in place and don’t come out.

What affects the cost?

The All-on-X process

  1. Consultation,3D Xray, 3D scan and treatment planning. We assess your bone, bite and medical history and plan implant positions precisely.
  2. Implant phase. Failing teeth are removed and the implants placed, with in-house sedation or under general anaesthetic so you’re comfortable throughout.
  3. Temporary teeth. You wear a fixed temporary bridge while the implants fuse with your jawbone, usually over three to six months.
  4. Prosthodontic phase. Once healed, your custom final bridge is designed, made and fitted for a natural look and a strong bite.
  5. Maintenance. Regular check-ups and professional cleans keep your implants healthy for the long term.

Medical aid and in-house sedation

We claim directly from your medical aid for all implant and surgical procedures, so you don’t have to submit claims yourself. Cover for implants varies widely between schemes and options, so check your plan’s benefits. We provide in-house sedation for all surgical and implant procedures, and we accept medical aid for surgical procedures done under general anaesthetic.

Frequently asked questions

How long do All-on-X implants last? The implants can last decades with good care. The bridge may need maintenance or replacement over time, depending on the material.

Is All-on-X painful? The procedure is done under anaesthetic with in-house sedation or general anaesthetic. Expect swelling and tenderness for a few days afterwards.

Will I be without teeth during treatment? No. You’ll have a fixed temporary bridge while your implants heal.

Can I pay for the two phases separately? Yes. The implant and prosthodontic phases are priced separately and happen months apart.
