We recommend a check-up and clean every six months for most adults, or more often if you have gum disease or a higher risk of decay.
What Happens at a Check-Up
Your dentist examines your teeth, gums, bite and the soft tissues of your mouth. We look for decay, worn or broken fillings, signs of gum disease, and any changes that need a closer look.
Dental X-Rays
X-rays show what we can’t see with the eye, such as decay between teeth, problems below the gumline, infection at the root tips, and the position of wisdom teeth. We only take X-rays when they are needed.
Scale and Polish
Even with good brushing and flossing, hardened plaque (tartar) builds up in places you can’t reach. A professional clean removes tartar and surface stains, leaving your teeth smooth and your gums healthier.
